Imagination is a wonderful thing, especially when it comes to art. As I worked on this painting I began to see an aerial view of coastal landscape. The more I worked the more familiar that “view” became. I knew where it was! An artist doesn’t know what a viewer of their work is going to “see”, especially when working abstractly. Indeed, I don’t know what I, myself will see as I work with this process! What is your perception of this painting? Does anything feel familiar?
